After installing my new CPU (AMD FX 8370) and GPU (MSI AMD RX 480) my computer is running slower than it was before. It takes a long time to open up applications, surf the web, starting up and shutting down, and just basic computing. Although, when I play games like BF1 and GTA V, it is perfect; no low fps or high temps. Sometimes on start up, it's just a blue screen and only my mouse appears and requires me to shut it down manually. I have reset the CMOS and BIOS, ran a virus & malware scan, tried my old cpu and gpu, and still no fix. I made sure everything was seated correctly and have found nothing unusual.

Ya it's fast, doesn't hurt anything if you don't have much on the system.

Before I ran the reset, I plugged in my old gpu and afterwards everything works! but up until i plugged in my new gpu, it was back to normal, so its definitely the gpu that causing the problems...might need to RMA it

Hmm. Try this: leave old GPU in, uninstall all graphics drivers. Shut down system, reboot with new GPU installed. Install new drivers.

Thanks for your reply! I just tried it and no dice. However, whenever I download the latest AMD Crimson driver, I notice it gets much slower than having no drivers at all. Maybe the software is the problem as well? Should I reinstall the OS with the new gpu in this time and see if that somehow fixes it, as it did for my old gpu?

Yeah, worth a shot. Try a different version of the Catalyst drivers first and see if that makes any difference. The latest AMD drivers have caused some really weird issues for my laptop with a R7 260M, so I rolled back to the previous version.

I tried a different version and installed the AMD drivers before the crimson update (15.11.1) and no luck, so I reinstalled my OS again but with my new gpu and its fixed, but I have no drivers installed for anything because I'm afraid that's what's causing my problems.
edit: decided to update drivers to latest verision of AMD and everything works! Thanks for your guys help! Just had to reinstall the OS that's all.
