So I think I messed up, I recently built a pc and without thinking I stuck the intel inside sticker that came with my cpu, on the back of my cpu, I then continued to assemble the entire rig putting on the liquid cooling and did not even think about it. Is this going to cause over heating problems with my cpu?

Yes, it can cause big problems, I would remove it Asap as you risk damaging your Cpu by overheating it.

The only thing that's supposed to go on top of the CPU is the thermal paste and then the heatsink/cooler.

The sticker is supposed to go on the case.

I've heard stories like this before. all of them ended without damage. You should be fine.

Hopefully not, but you will only find out after running the Computer properly with the OS on. Fingers crossed it should be working fine.

If there is damage you'll be able to tell as the Computer will shut off or restart.

It depends on what the sticker is made of. Regardless, unless it is a thick sticker it won't block enough heat transfer to matter much, but you will always be running a bit hotter than your system thinks it is. That will impact fan speeds and performance, though not to a large degree. Should you remove it, clean everything carefully, replace the thermal conducting compound and reinstall your LC, yes. Do you really have to, not really.

BUT if you choose not to do anything with it and you have a failure for any reason - related or not - improper installation may void your warranty if that is a concern factor for you. Generally if you are here it's not a concern, but it is good to be aware of anyway.
