Hello,

My primary monitor is hooked up to the motherboard because i was having some issues with it on my gpu. My second monitor is connected to my gpu. The problem i am encountering is games aren't running with my primary gpu, instead its running with the crappy intel ones. What am i suppose to do? People told me to go into nvidia control panel and choose it from "manage 3d settings" but it doesn't work. Please help me...

Thanks!

rig:
EVGA GTX 1060 6gb
Intel i5 6500
MSI h110m gaming
8gb of ram

using Intel + AMD/Nvidia I have never had an issue with. using AMD/Nvidia Yes i always have issues with in the same system.

For the monitor. have to tired a different cables or a different cable type? Check to make sure the refresh rate is set to match the monitor as well.
The monitor connected to your motherboard will always use the Intel graphics. The monitor connected to your GPU will always use that GPU. The only exception is a trick used with laptops (Nvidia calls theirs Optimus, don't recall what AMD calls theirs) that you probably don't want to use on a desktop anyway since it has some serious compromises (e.g. vsync is always on).

As drtweak said above, you need to make the monitor connected to your Nvidia card the primary.

Hello,

No not really lol. I found the solution, i just needed to do some tweaks in the game setting, which in this case was overwatch and make it run in monitor 1, which is still the monitor connected to my intel board not the gpu. Overwatch for some reason makes it run in "best match" but just change it to monitor 1 and it should be fine.

In PCI and PCIe systems, it is certainly possible. The BIOS has settings to say which is the primary, if both are present. It is subject to the usual issues of mixing graphics cards of different brands: the drivers may be allergic to each other. At least, be sure not to install the "utilities" from both as they may fight over things.
