My laptop has died so I want to transfer the files that were on the ssd to my desktop. I have removed the ssd and it is pretty small. How do I transfer it's files to the desktop? Both computers are made by HP.
If the SSD is still working, you can either buy an enclosure for it (SATA to usb) and then plug it into your desktop's usb port and get the data you want.
Something like this will do the trick: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182313
Or, you can connect the ssd directly to your desktop via SATA and it should show up as a system drive
