not sure if the monitor is a good choice with a gtx 1070.

any recommendations on maybe a cheaper motherboard? I just ask for at least 1 PCI x16, some type of bios for easy overclocking, audio and an hdmi, DDR4 and with adequate usb ports. (Also note I'm only buying from newegg)

Power supply good? Overkill? Can I go cheaper?

Is the cryorig fan neccessary? The case comes with 5 preinstalled fans already.

Also, is the case a good choice?

Thanks for your input!

Yes, K series not equipped with cooler.

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-2-Way-DualBIOS-Motherboards-GA-Z170XP-SLI/dp/B012AQGL4A/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1480025218&sr=8-9&keywords=gigabyte+Z170 less expensive, compatible and still very well featured(including sli capable).

GREAT choice for the PSU. With a 1070 in play you want to go for HIGH quality.

Good high speed monitor.

DO YOUR SHOPPING CORRECTLY. Do not rush Consider https://jet.com/product/Acer-H236HL-bid-23-inch-Wide-Screen-LED-Monitor/83af6bc5d3474d13ac042fc945e44db4

A lot less than $199

Good case. Comes with 5 fans, USB 3.0 in the front. Cable management dead space. Other good features. and the Cryorig H7 will fit.

I read your Newegg only intent. That could cost you. They might not have tax or shipping. DOes that justify the extra investment. $168 jet.com vs $199. That's but one less expensive part. About $30 less. Another $30 less for the motherboard and free shipping. With some time it might be less expensive. Yes, shipping matters. This is only my opinion.

Does the motherboard come with an easy bios for overclocking? And you are right, I should look around more, I got good deals through email from newegg so I figured I do everything on that.

Also should I buy thermal paste?

And could you explain as to why your motherboard of choice is the best choice (for its price).

Except those units are *NOT* high quality - they're manufactured by HEC which is a low tier vendor. If you go EVGA you want the Super Flower units - the B2 / G2 / P2 / T2 units - they may be a bit more expensive but totally worth it.

. Yes, shipping matters. This is only my opinion.

Uh.... what? Could you elaborate on that a bit more?

Also should I buy thermal paste?

Thermal compound is not needed - Cryorig includes stuff better than other pastes you could buy.

Going by EVGA's site. Their Supernova series is one of their best. Not a G2. I know. It is also gold certified. That means efficient. Perfect choice? No. Great imo? Yes.

Price is not the only concern. Shipping and other concerns matter. Going for the cheapest and they have horrible shipping can result in more DOA's. The OP may have had a horrible experience with another retailer. I welcome questions from OPs or anybody else in the community. Thank you for asking for clarification. Hope it helped the OP or someone else that sees this post. I am not going to tell someone sticking with only one retailer is a bad idea. Their personal experience will of course vary. I can however state my opinion.

My mistake. A cooler is needed. It does come with paste.

I wouldn't trust website PR copy as a means of judging power supplies. Their Supernova series are widely regarded as the best of the best. The Nex series are not, they're rather low end.

Yes you can state your opinion, but that makes absolutely *ZERO* sense. No manufacturer in the world would accept UPS as the reason why their product is defective. I've never seen anyone claim that bad shipping was the result of their product being defective, and I've been building systems a very long time.

No product has ever been sent beck because it was damaged? I appreciate constructive criticism. You telling me that I am making zero sense is just rude.

Now you have.

Damage does happen during shipping. If someone has bad experience with one retailer they may try another one.

How does

The OP may have had a horrible experience with another retailer.

make zero sense?

Why is the OP choosing to ONLY deal with Newegg?

Idk. Shipping is one possibility.

If you would like to send me a personal message regarding my questions I will definitely respond to you. This post is for the OP. You are more than welcome to state your own opinion and disagree with me. Telling someone they make zero sense when there are MANY instances of shipping companies breaking products is simply being rude. As far as responding to you again in this post, I am done. I do thank you for speaking your mind.

Blah blah blah

I disagree with that.

State your reasons.

SWEET!!! I love to learn. I am FAR from infallible. I am light years and more away from a PC pro. That is also why I am here. To learn.

I did see Nex AND Supernova.

But you chose personal attack instead.

Constructive vs rude.

Once again that's my opinion.

Ah yes "the some guy on Youtube said..." argument. Did you see these videos or read the comments? Nearly all of these are dealing with prebuilt systems, and that's yet another reason to add "don't buy a prebuilt" to reasons why you should build a computer instead of buying one.

How does

The OP may have had a horrible experience with another retailer.

And I counter that with "Why does it matter?". Newegg, Amazon and nearly every other company you can name uses the same shipping companies.

No it makes zero sense. As a mod if I see someone spouting nonsense like this, it will get corrected because threads like this show up on Google, and we can't have some absurd conspiracy theory backed by the "some guy on Youtube said this" argument be the correct solution. It isn't no matter what forum you go to. All those videos you listed were some people complaining about prebuilt systems they ordered, and idiot FedEx drivers tossing them around. But blaming shipping for a defective motherboard is something that you never see anywhere.

No posting constructively would have been adding to what the OP originally wanted instead of throwing this whole thing off the rails with absurd conspiracies and nonsense arguments is not the way to win friends around here.
