I was considering buying Battlefield 1 for my custom pc that I built a few months ago, and was wondering if I should upgrade anything, or leave as is. In its current state, could I run bf1 on ultra with good fps (60+)?
My specs are:
Intel i5 6500 3.2 GHz
MSI GTX 970 4G
16GB RAM 2133MHz (DDR4)
MSI Z170A Gaming 3
RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W
Rosewill Challenger S (if it's important)
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
Windows 10 64 Bit

Solution

Raidmax power supplies are of considerably low quality. If you want to get the most from that 970 of yours chances are that if you start overclocking your GPU that it won't handle the extra power. A quality 550 - 600W will handle the overclock on the CPU and GPU better than that Raidmax PSU will.

Your system specs seems to be a bit unbalanced as z170 series is made for unlocked processor such i5 6600k or i7 6700k.If you're using a 1080p display i think it will be easy to pull ultra setting on BF1

Would it be safe to say that my CPU is bottlenecking performance? In which case I would upgrade.

btw, I am using a 1080p monitor.

Mind if I ask why? I'm not doubting that you're right, but up until now, it's been working fine (for all I know). I haven't seen any signs of it failing, and I've checked all of my components, and it should be enough to run them all.

Your CPU is perfectly fine and would not bottleneck anything.Since you have a z170 mobo you will be able to upgrade to a unlocked i5,i7 processor in future
