Some Intel X99 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Broadwell-E CPUs?

I know this is probably a site error and most of these CPUs have been out long enough for manufacturers to release BIOS updates accordingly, but I still wanted to make sure. I'm looking at purchasing an i7 6800K with a ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer/3.1 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard.

Will it work? Also, I have an H100i GTX Liquid Cooler in another build which Is still in good condition and I'm looking at using it to cool the 6800K. Will this work also?

Thanks

You will probably need to flash the BIOS to add Broadwell-E compatibility, because they ship with original BIOS versions, but thats just a case of loading the latest BIOS from ASRock onto a flash drive and quickly updating. Will only take minutes.

And yes that cooler will be plenty.

Well, the Broadwell-E CPU's are quite a bit newer than those X99 motherboards, which obviously originally released along with the Haswell-E processors. Nowadays those X99 most likely do ship with updated BIOS which will support Broadwell-E processors out of the box but what if you got one from old stock? That's why it does mention ''May need a BIOS update''. Will you most likely need one? Don't think so really.

Check for the BIOS version if its 3.0 then you are good to go with i7 6800k. The latest version of BIOS for this MB is 3.10.

So if the BIOS version which comes with the board by default is version 3.0 or higher? If the latest version is 3.10 then shouldn't it work? How do I check the BIOS version?
