Hi guys,

So I am on the market looking to purchase a new graphics card, especially with the new 10 series that are released. So the title says it, the EVGA FTW+ packs a punch all for the tidy sum of £299.99 currently.
Seen here: EVGA GTX 1060 FTW+ 6Gb

Now I chose this card because A) It's in my price range, granted at the top of £300.00 but it also packs a punch, though I am not experienced enough to determine if it is better to get a 1070 entry level around the same price or get this 1060 version.

1060 6GB FTW+
Core Clock: 1632MHz
Boost Clock: 1860MHz
Memory: 6144MB 8008MHz GDDR5
Stream Processors: 1280
VR Ready
PhysX/CUDA Enabled
3 Years Warranty.

1070 example, cheapest on overclockers
GeForce GTX 1070 "Reference Blower" 8192MB

Core Clock: 1506MHz
Boost Clock: 1683MHz
Memory: 8192MB 8000MHz GDDR5
Stream Processors: 1920
SLI Ready
VR Ready
PhysX/CUDA Enabled
2 Years Warranty.

ANY advice is very much appreciated!

Thank you!

A 1060 is pretty much a 1060 regardless of model. It will just be more overclockable, support heavier overclocking due to superior cooling and possibly have aesthetic qualities/rbg led's etc. A 1070 will still be better.

This scares me considerably, especially as it is a lot of money to put forward for me. Will I still get an equal performance from these cards? I am using a standard tower case,

I picked strix that I was somewhat familiar with, item link

Thanks for the reply, would I notice a considerable difference with the extra 2gb (1070 8gb) models?

Yeah, you'd notice a difference, but not because of the VRAM really, but because of the extra vram bandwidth, shader units, cuda cores etc.
