Why are you looking to an overclocking friendly board when you don't have a K series CPU? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128863 is my suggestion for the 6600.

Between your options I would choose http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128837 for a K series Skylake CPU.

The cheapest of the bunch. Why are you getting a locked i5 chip but a Z170 motherboard built for overclocking?

I would choose neither if it is a just a 6600. If it was a 6600K (unlocked), then I would get the Gigabyte Gaming 5. Again, it's all preference, as they will generally at the same with some having some tweaks and whatnot.

Depending on how ram sticks you are using. If you have 2, I would go with the H110. Or upgrade to a 6600k for the extra $20 and grab a Z170

Absolutely yes. That's why I offered a H170 board. Not an overclocker's friend but certainly friends with a gamer. SLI capable offers more longevity. Plenty of storage options

So very odd but cool: It has a PS/2 keyboard/Mouse connection. There are instances where the USB slots may not work. That dinosaur redundancy just looks good.


It can easily support a case with a couple 3.0 and 2.0 connections upfront and its I/O panel is well appointed.



For under $100 it's a good buy.
