So my graphics card is an MSI NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 560TI TWIN FROZR II/OC 2GD5 and I have no idea where to find out how much power it uses. I have a 500 watt psu and my other components in my system are 2 x 4GB DDR3 dual channel RAM, AMD Phenom II x6 1090T CPU, coolermaster hyper 212 evo heat sink and cooler.

I have two sata to 6 pin power adapters as my psu doesn't have them and I don't know what I need power wise

Using any kind of power adaptor on a PSU of unknown quality is not recommended. An upgrade here is more of a "maybe I should get a battery for my smoke detector" thing than a "maybe I should have a sunroof installed in my car" thing.

Well I've taken these comments on and have bought myself an EVGA 600w power supply 80 PLUS white. It has two 8 pin (6+2) pci-e connectors, a couple molex cables and some sata cables too and also the 4+4 ESP connectors. Basically a full set.
