Hey guys i'm playing to build a pc on thr summer and this is my setup

Mobo:msi h170 gaming pro or z170 m5
Gpu gtx 1050 ti or not if i chose the i5 6600k
Cpu cooler:hyper 212x if i get the k cpu
Ram : 6gb nvm
Hdd: i already have a 500gb one
Psu:evga 500b or crosair cx600
Cass :nox hummer mc
So the problem is am confused between getting the k ir the non k version if i get the k i will drop the gpu and if i get the non k i will get a gpu i also care about how long this will stay if the k version well help me survive longer
Thanks

nothing much to think about. it should be clear.

you gain nothing with the "K" version over the non "K" version, if you dont overclock it.
by overclocking it you need a much stronger cooler on it. = $$$
they are the same if you dont overclock the "K" version. more or less the "K" stands for unlocked
and gives you the possibility to overclock it compared to the non "K", which is locked.

imho,
i would drop the 6600 entirely and go for the 6500 with a 1060 6bg or 1070. you get more out of it.

For most games is better to invest the money on your GPU, so if buying the 6600K would lead on you having to go for a less powerful GPU don't bother on buying it. The 6600 it is a very good processor, and would do really good for some years.

The K versions usually tend to be useful for some time more because of the possibility of overclocking them. When they are starting to go back a little bit, you can push the clock to get a boost in performance.

So, my piece of advice would be:
a) Enough money for "-K" and good GPU-> Get the 6600K and Z170 mobo.
b) Better GPU or "-K" CPU (or not interested in OC)-> Get the 6600 and H170

PD: You could even drop to the 6500 if the difference in price makes you get a best GPU. You will get more performance with 6500/1060 or 1070 than a 6600(or 6600K)/1050ti.

No, it is not that bad. It is a really good GPU for its price and you will be able to play new games with good quallity on 1080p.

The only thing is that the 6600 and the 6600k are too much for the 1050ti. If you are on a budget you can get a 6500 which is cheaper and the difference would not even be noticeable.

What i say is that maybe with the money you save with getting the 6500, the H170 (even a B150 would be fine) and not getting a cooler you can afford a better GPU like the 1060: go for it.

Just dont waste your money with a 6600K if you go with a 1050ti. Save money and get a 6500 and a 1050ti/1060.
