Compatible yes. Depending on your cpu and monitor it may not be worth it. But it will definitely work.

don't see why not ? then any crazy compatibility thing could happen . z 87 has full uefi bios and should be up to date enough for todays cards .
I got a z87 asrock and don't think I would worry using that card on it .

The 1080 would work well with that but unless you are running a 144hz monitor or 1440p or 4k a 1080 is major overkill. The GTX 1070 will more than do the job.

buy the best card you can don't worry about ''overkill'' no such thing in my opinion but looking back and wishing you did go ahead and get the better card can be a issue
