I have just finished buying all my pc parts and i have stumbled upon a very worrying situation. My motherboard is a "gigabyte h170 gaming 3" and supports ram that is 2133mgz. I bought 2400 mgz ram without knowing and i think this is the reason my computer is not giving me any visuals on my monitor.
What I want to know is, can 2400mgz ram be used on a h170 motherboard that supports 2133mgz ram?

Solution
Should, yes, at 2133. Do you have the latest BIOS? Try installing a single stick in slot 1 and try - if OK then try adding one to slot 3. If no joy try in slots 1-2 and let us know

It *should* work, but only at 2133MHz speeds. You may have an issue where the RAM is not supported full-stop, but that is becoming increasingly rare.

Have you tried with a single RAM module? Clearing your CMOS?

Please post your full specs.
