I recently bought an Intel i5-4670k off of craigslist to replace my current AMD FX-8350. I'm waiting for my lga 1150 motherboard to come in the mail at the moment.

So I wanted to ask in advance, will there be any issue when I swap the AMD cpu + motherboard with the new Intel cpu + motherboard? Can I leave the hard drives in their respective systems and only swap the motherboard and cpu without having to reinstall windows or lose any data?

I have two systems so the main rig will receive the Intel cpu while the secondary one will get the AMD one.
Current situation:
Main rig: FX-8350 + AM3+ motherboard
Secondary rig: G3258 + lga 1150 motherboard -----> then installed i5-4670k to test

End goal:
Main rig: i5-4670k + lga 1150 motherboard
Secondary rig: FX-8350 + AM3+ motherboard

I hope this isn't too confusing. Thanks in advance!

Try one and see what happens. Make sure your Windows installation is registered with Microsoft first.

You won't lose any data - it's all still there on the drive. I did it on a laptop and it would no longer sleep or install the correct HD Graphics driver. The other W10 drive swap worked 100% fine.

See if performance is what you'd expect of that system. If not, back up the data to an external drive or something of the sort and reinstall completely.

I have windows 10. If that's the case, what's the best way of retaining my data and reinstalling my OS?

It looks like you were right. I am currently typing from the secondary rig with the FX-8350 and it seems like all of the data is still here. Much easier than I thought... Thanks for the help dude!!!
