I can sped up to $400 NZD on a new graphics card. im very inept at the variants though. And some of the higher end models will not be compatible with my older(ish) PC I will list my specs below if that helps. And any and all recommendations of cards under $400 would be appreciated.

PC Specs:
Currently have:

Graphic Card: AMD Radeon HD 6450(1GB)

RAM: 16Gb DDR3 RAM

CPU: i5-2400 3.1GHz.

Motherboard, 2AB6 AMI PCI-Express Max Supported x16

I want to run 3 1080p Monitors with my new step up, and can provide more information if needed(not entirely sure what to provide)

Was looking at this: http://www.newegg.com/global/nz/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814131694

But im worried its somehow to powerful for my PC etc. but i want a semi future proofed Graphics card and being VR ready would be useful

What PSU do you have. The GPU you have now draws very little power. Also, the MB you have is PCI-E 2.0, and newer cards are 3.0...Though you won't notice very much difference. Also, not a lot of difference right now, the 4GB & the 8 GB RX480, but why not it you can afford it. One last thing, prices in the US for the RX480 8GB are $250.00. Are the prices in NZ that much more? I like the RX 480 over the GTX 1060 since you can Crossfire the 480 in the future (With a different MB). No so with the 1060.

Get a GTX 1060, best value for money card on the market now, and it fits in your budget perfectly.
Don't bother with AMD unless you have a really good power supply ;)
