I built a computer a few days ago with the cpu 6600k. I have been worrying about the cooling and temperature since I might have put the thermal paste a bit too much to the bottom and the top side of the cpu having not enough. I was planning to overclock it, but I just want to make sure the cooling is alright first then move on to overclocking. I am currently running a evo 212 and my idle temperature is around 30-40c and slightly lower than 50c when running a game. I am not sure if the thermal paste is covering the parts that needs to be covered. Would it be necessary to reinstall the cooler with better thermal paste placement with the temperature I am currently running at before moving on to overclock? I am new to overclocking so I just want to make sure if I am running at a acceptable temperature.

do you think I should reinstall though? I just want to make sure it is safe to overclock.
