Hello guys, i really need help here specially since finals are comming and i cant access to any of my notes ot my computer whatsoever. My computer was working perfectly, no performance issues or anything like that, today i wanted to do some cleaning of my C: drive and deletr some games i had storaged there, i tried to delete one o them when the computer told me that the file was corrupted and that i needed to run the reparing tool but for that i needed to restard the computer, I though that yeah no problem and restarded the computer. Now everytime i turn on the computer it will start this process, get stuck in 11% for about 2-3 minutes, for like a second or 2 it will jump to 100% completed and it will give an error and restart the computer again(loop where it will scan and try to fix again). If thi happens a couple of times in a row it will give me a blue screen saying that it failed to restart and that i can either restart it again, turn it off, or do some other "advanced options"
Any idea what i can do to cancel this loop and acess to my computer again? Please i rrally need help on this matter

Is this the disk scan where it says there's abnormalities and you can skip it? Or is it a different one.

You could always try and turn the computer off, unplug the power cable, press the power button for about 20 seconds, and it'll drain the power and it might cancel the scan for now.

You could always try and resetting the CMOS by taking the battery out at the same time, after that reconnect the power cable and boot into BIOS if possible, you can do this without resetting CMOS, but it shouldn't harm anything.

Boot into BIOS, and boot onto the C: Drive (Your Hard Drive) and it might ask to do the scan, you can probably skip it by pressing any key on your keyboard, do so. And it should boot properly.

Hello xFearDom, im talking about a desktop not a laptop so the batery wouldnt work and tried to plug it off and drain the power with no luck. I never see any option to skip the scan. Once it fails i get a blue screen that says "automatic repair. Your pc did not start correctly. Press Restart to restart ur pc, eitch can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press advanced options to try other options to rrpair your pc

You misunderstood the battery thing.

Basically on the Motherboard, there is a silver battery, it is quite obvious once you know what to look for:

CMOS-Battery-3.jpg

As you can see, there's a little lever that you'd need to use your finger to push back and the battery will pop up, remove it, then drain the power again and see if that works.

Edit: Just noticed about the Blue screening and repairs - In which case, the CMOS reset will be needed.

Do you still have your Windows Installation Disk? And which version of windows are you running?

Thanks for ur quicj answer, but after looking for a while i cant find the batery at all. My motherboard is an asus maximus vii hero. I tried through the bios with my c drive and now instead of the asu logo i have a windows logo while it does the automativ repair thig. Noe i see a message that says to cancel the scan press a key, but even if i click space bar like crazy it gives me jo time, it stays so short that i can barely read the message itself
Edit: im using windows 8.1 and i dont have the disk. I used an usb long time ago to instal windows and i do not have that usb anymore

Right, okay.

What version of windows are you running? And here is the battery location on your Motherboard:

Look on the left, next to the PCIe Slot.

That is the location of the battery, might not be able to see it if your GPU is in the way.

Put the battery back in and it should've done it, and then put your GPU back in too and reconnect everything. I highly doubt this will have done anything, but it is worth a try.

Do you have a Windows 8.1 Installation disk with you or not?

Thought it wouldn't, what keyboard do you have? Is it a simple USB one with no extra keys?

And do you have another computer spare so you can create a tool to fix your issue?

https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-create-a-windows-recovery-drive-2625164

Here is a guide for you to do so, you will need a windows 8 or 8.1 computer though.

I meant like the macro keys, as the cheaper USB keyboards end with the esc being in the top left and caps lock and everything below them, basically the keys labelled m1, m2 etc.

Do you have a plain USB keyboard without any macro keys?

The first link will create a bootable USB stick that will repair your Windows 8.1, and where did you get the key to active your Windows? Was it directly from Microsoft or did you buy it elsewhere, aka an OEM.

No worries, hope that they help you fix your issue, you may need to do a SMART check on your HDD due to this, just in case.

Good luck on your test tomorrow, and let me know if them guides help you!
