CCTV DVR running 4 cameras. No wired internet possible. Is it possible to use an already WiFi connected android mobile to stream the DVR for viewing online?

Solution
So the DVR can be networked at least wired (ethernet) - correct?

If that is correct then you would need to set up a wireless Access Point - you will need to have a wired connection to the host network to configure the access point. Once configured the ethernet cable will be removed and the Access Point would be placed near the DVR and connected to the DVR with an ethernet cable.

Thus the DVR would be a wired network connection to the Access Point. Then the Access Point would wirelessly communicate with the router making the DVR data available to all authorized network users/devices.

Here is a simple diagram of the ending setup (leaving out other wired and wireless devices):

IPS ----- ethernet cable ------> Router...

How do you currently view what is being captured? Via the "already Wifi connected android mobile"? Both live and playback?

If not, how are the images currently being viewed?

In any case either the live images or the played back images need to be input into some device for wireless transmission thereafter.

Do not see that capabiltiy in the android.

Further information about the overall configuration is needed.

Thank you for the reply.
BTW the DVR is still not visible online. I would like to go online without connecting through the router with a cable. The router's WIFI user ID and password is also known, but located too far. Also an android phone connected to the router is available.

Both the Access Point and DVR will need to be configured to be on your network. Other devices can be connected both wired and wirelessly as well.

Take a look at some tutorials and diagams online by googling "Access Point tutorial diagram", or similar words and phrases.
