Hello,

I was hoping some of the knowledgeable folks here on Tom's would be able to rate this build I've put together.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/LHwhFd

I'm curious how you guys feel it will hold up to current and future games as well as activities such as streaming on Twitch. Also, if anyone could give a rough estimate of what they feel would be this rig's shelf life I would really appreciate it!

P.S. Please rate these components without regard to price, as I am simply putting the list together as a convenience. Also, I realize the GTX 1070 is the new hotness, but the 970 is a carry-over from a year ago and I plan on keeping it for the mean time.

Solution
First things first.
- Get at least 2x4GB of RAM ( two sticks ), and if possible 2x8GB, Streaming and gaming can require a good bunch of RAM and Dual-Channel is much more efficient than a single RAM stick. 16GB RAM should be optimal for that purpose.

- The price of that GTX970 is absurd! Don't even plan of paying that much on it. You can grab a GTX1070 for that price, which will be MUCH better, if you gonna consider the price, get a GTX 1060, it's faster than the 970 and cheaper, or go with the 1070

- I'd advise getting a Cryorig H7 Cooler, as it's...

- I'd advise getting a Cryorig H7 Cooler, as it's a great one and IMO more reliable than your current one:

- Where/what's your PSU? I'd recommend this:
EDIT:
That PSU isn't that reliable, i'd go with this one below if you plan on overclocking that CPU

If you solve these questions, you should be able to max-out any game in @1080p or even @1440p with much problem. I can't estimate, as i can't see the future ( unfortunately ) but that rig should last you for a good goooood while.

Decent! Should perform nicely! A couple money-savers though:

Go for a GTX 1070 instead of the GTX 970!
-Cheaper
-More VRAM (8Gb vs 4Gb)
-Newer, better support, etc.
-The GTX 970 has 3.5Gb of high-speed VRAM, and the last .5Gb is slow (there has been a lawsuit regarding this!)

I recommend getting a Water Cooler for your Processor. The "K" at the end means that it is unlocked, so you can overclock. Overclocking using an air cooler would work, but it's far less reliable. If you don't plan on overclocking, you may be able to find a I7-6700 (without the "K") for cheaper.

Overall, I agree with what Manddy123 said. That GTX 970 price is insanely high, and what was mentioned about the RAM is very true.

The build will run perfectly, but it's far overpriced when you can get even better components like the GTX 1070 cheaper! The build will last you quite a while, especially if you choose to buy the GTX 1070.
