Hello. I'm planning to buy a new motherboard because mine is 7 years old. But I'm afraid if data loss when i replace motherboard. I dont know it does or doesnt. It is windows update I downloaded about 4gb and it was my biggest deal of my life I even sold my Golden watch. So does replacing motherboard or cpu delete my downloaded goddamn updates?

Solution
No it does not delete data. However, I would recommend it matches your CPU. If your motherboard is 7 years old, then your CPU is also old. Meaning a new motherboard will need to match a CPU as well.

The data is storage onto the hard drive and will be the same when you hook it to the new motherboard.
