Hi guys. I have Logitech z506 speakers that I just hooked up to my new PC. PC motherboard is Asus z170-a. Running Windows 10. Everything is hooked up correctly. 5.1ch surround sound is enabled in the Realtek audio menu. When I do test sounds by clicking on individual speakers under Audio settings, I can get every speaker to play the test signal perfectly. No matter what settings I change, the only speakers that produce sound are the right and left front speakers and the subwoofer during any sort of media (game, movie, music... anything outside of test sounds). No sound ever comes from the center speaker or the rear left / right speakers.

I can, however, get all speakers to produce sound during movies by checking "On" under "DTS Connect" in my Realtek audio configuration. I am not sure if this is actually producing 5.1 surround sound or whether this is just giving me really bad quality 2 channel sound spread throughout all of my speakers. If anyone knows the answer to this question I'd appreciate it.

If anyone knows what I could possibly do to get all the speakers working I would appreciate some advice. Thank you!!

If you need any more information, please ask :)

Well I did discover that DTS connect is indeed making 2 channel audio playable through all the surrounding speakers. I am guessing that the quality on this conversion is not that great -- but I still haven't been able to make the 5.1ch surround sound work at all without turning on DTS connect. Can anyone confirm that the only way to get the surround sound to work is by using DTS connect?

For example in a game like Battlefield 1 -- the surround sound works with DTS connect on, but without DTS connect it's still just using 2 channel audio (even with surround sound turned on in the game menus).
