So I was reading another thread and someone had asked that the user download CrystalDiskInfo and scan their drive. So after using CDI I got these results.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-AvRPI9TDy6tsQ087BGb_oUN16RqNj63iT4nbSzl_qk
(I don't know how to share pics any other way but this seems to suffice)

Anyways I'm not sure how to interpret this info but from the big yellow caution sign I can infer that there's something wrong. Any help as to what this means or how to fix it is GREATLY appreciated.

with windows 10 now all you need is an 8g usb stick and use the free microsoft media creation tool to make a new windows 10 bootable usb stick. after you do a clean install of the os it pull your old windows key in. then all you have to do is reinstall your programs and games.
the hard drive not damaged or failing right now. what your seeing is a bad spot formed on one of the platters of the hard drive. intill there a fdisk and format so that the drive can put the bad spots on the defects list of the drive you see that warning. the trick is if that list starts to get bigger it telling you the drive and or heads are having issues and it time to replace the hard drive.

Hi there Conner_38,

As smorizio said, the drive could not be failing. Yet, it is always a good idea to bac up your most important data stored on the drive.

The pending sectors are weak sectors. If these are software ones, not physically damaged sectors on the platter, you may be able to fix those with a reformat or even writing zeros(fills in 0 value in each sector) on the drive. After that, you can retest and see if you will get similar results.

You need to back up all the data stored on the drive, as these are data destructive processes.

So to be clear, zero writing will completely wipe all data, including my Windows 10 OS. If so what is the best way to back up my data? (The OS is the only thing which is of value to me on this drive) Sorry for the questions I just want to be certain here. Thanks for the help!
