AMD has not released a new high-end CPU design since 2012. They're not in the running for new gaming computers anymore, and there is no existing AMD CPU as fast as a 6600K. AMD is supposed to release a new design next year but performance and cost are largely unknown at this point, and they have a track record of under-delivering lately.

Just get the i5-6600k. It will perform better than any current AMD processor, AND you have the ability to upgrade your processor if that ever is an option, with AMD the socket (AM3) is dead so there wont be any new / better processors.
