I'm looking for a recording program that will record multiple tracks or multiple files at the same time. For example say I'm playing a video game while talking to friends. I want to record the video game audio in a file titles "example game audio" and record my friends in a separate audio file named "Example game friends audio" and record my voice in a separate file. so that way when im editing I can modify the sound more. I wanted to do it in Adobe audition CS6 but I cant figure out how to record my pc audio in one track while my mic in another.

I believe you need a program called Virtual Audio Cable.

It will allow you to play game audio to a Virtual Audio Cable. (VAC)
Then you send your voice chat audio to another VAC.
Then in AACS6, you record both audio tracks and listen to both, that should allow you to separate them.
Then your video recording software just doesn't record audio, and you just merge them together as you wish afterwards.
