Hi, I recently installed a fresh installation of Windows 7 on to my x32 bit Panasonic Toughbook. The model is CF-53 mk 3, and I can't get my network or ethernet to work. I tried using cable and installing the drivers but it didn't help, what can I do? Also, I want to know if I put this in the wrong category or not.

As far as I can see from the Panasonic support site, that machine comes with Windows 10 and you have exercised your downgrade rights. However, there are no Windows 7 drivers for it. The earliest drivers that I see are for Windows 8. No drivers for the OS, no working.

There is a possibility of finding windows 7 drivers for the specific chip. I personally consider the "grey market" in drivers to be too dangerous for installation on my PC; I have been trained to be paranoid and getting drivers from a site other than the vendor of the system or the chip worries me. In the device manager, you can find the device, go to Properties, the Details tab, and record the Hardware ID. This can be decoded into the manufacturer and device (sorry...

This can be decoded into the manufacturer and device (sorry, I've lost my link to doing that), or you can use it directly to search for drivers. Up to you whether or not to risk it.

Out of curiosity, did the machine come with Win 10 and, if so, why are you downgrading to 7? Perhaps you can work around this?

It's fine, I used the recovery drive now and it's all good. The reason I downgraded to windows 7 is because I believe we are looking at different machines because the computer i'm looking at came with windows 7. The reason why I downgraded to windows 7 is because I wanted a fresh installation of windows.
