Intel 6402p p meaning

Solution
Usually it means that the CPU has no discrete graphics, but with that certain CPU it means that the cpu has HD510 integrated graphics instead of the HD530 integrated graphics which the i5-6400 has.

In Intel processor suffixes, the "P" means that the processor you're buying comes without the Integrated graphics. That being said, if your soul purpose is hardcore gaming and stuffs like video editing and all that then I assume you're already going to buy a discrete graphics card. So, You can freely go with the 6402p as you wouldn't be needing the integrated graphics. But if you're not planning to buy a separate GPU then you should avoid the 6402p because it has no integrated graphics. The 6402p/6400 is still a true quad core intel chip and is noticeably better than the i3s but it would be more appropriate to shed a few extra bucks and get the i5 6500. because it has 500 Mhz more base clock speed compared to i5 6402p/6400 (2.7 GHz Vs 3.2 GHz) Which would help you more in single threaded applications and in gaming performance.
