Will this CPU be a bottleneck for this card? What about if I overclock it to 3.6-3.7 Ghz instead 3.4Ghz

Solution

I have a similar combination (Phenom II X6 1100T and an RX 480). In certain titles its a bottleneck but not a major one that causes playability issues. Expect to see a couple stutters in games like Battlefield 1 and Gears of War 4, but for the most part it performs excellently. I play Doom at 100fps, Hitman plays at 50-60 fps, and so on.

Yes and yes as the CPU even bottleneck s the 460 to a degree. If the 480 is a good price tho shouldn't stop you from the purchase. See bottlenecks aren't an absolute stoping point as each game places demand on you CPU in different amounts. Also is the upgrade a good increase over you old GPU? If you have a 280 or 380 your already hitting the bottlenecing which will make the upgrade increase small. Anything 7000 series and back then go for the upgrade.

Thanks. I have an Radeon 5670, so from the videocard point of view, it will be an upgrade.
