How do i map more than one key to my steam controller?

so i got my steam controller the other day and I found the controller has a pretty high learning curve it. I want to map the left track pad to use my characters powers while using up/down/left/right when I accessing the gui. this is for my non steam version of kotor 2 btw

Also can you not do them from directly in the game, it will register as any other controller and you SHOULD be able to bind them just by pressing the button.
