Hi,

I'm interested in the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3, mainly because of it's low power consumption. Now I found another board, the Gigabyte GA-Z170-Gaming K3-EU, which seems like a "trimmed" version of it. There are still enough interfaces for my needs and I really don't need colored leds, so my only question concerns the energy consumption:

Does anybody know how much power the board (K3-EU) needs (idle), especially in comparison to the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3? Thanks!

Greetings from Germany, where electricity is absolutely overpriced :/

According to the first sheet on this[1] site, there's a huge difference in power consumption between this board and others (my defective B150 (already socket 1151) board consumed around 13 watts more). My PC runs around 8 hours a day, so I would save around 11 euros / 12 dollars per year compared to my old board (I pay around 30ct/kWh).

[1] Unfortunately this review is in German, but the first sheet (idle power consumption) should be easy to understand anyway: http://www.hardwareluxx.de/index.php/artikel/hardware/mainboards/36530-gigabyte-ga-z170x-gaming-3-im-test.html?start=5
