Hi, I am planning to upgrade my motherboard from the Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3 to the Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3. I have Windows 10 Pro and it is currently activated (I upgraded from Windows 8.1 and I paid around £120 for it) Once I have inserted my new motherboard and power my computer on what will happen and will I need to reinstall windows?? Please help, I am new to PCs and I am quite worried!!

You'll need to reload the drivers, but you should be okay. Windows 10 will do this for you, but it takes a bit. Just make sure you use the same C drive. It would be better to reload windows, but it will work. I've done it a few times.

No problem. Once you are done loading everything, go into the Device Manager and see if you need to manually update any drivers. I usually have to do this for the NIC and Video. You'll find most drivers you need on the DVD that came with the MB. Have fun!

Happy to help. One other thing I wanted to add... If things go bad for you and you have a valid WIN10 License, then you can call Microsoft support and tell them that you upgraded your MB and had to reload. They will give you a code to activate. I had to do this at work a few times.
