I was following a guide to fix another problem (couldn't create an adhoc network) I had with the same notebook, when I deleted one of the folders in regedit.exe. This made me able to create the adhoc network, but now my wireless adapter/card keeps regularly turning off for a couple minutes and then back on again. With disabling, I mean that a red "X" over the wireless icon in the tray bar. The notebook is a Lenovo ThinkPad with an Intel 7265ac wireless card. and it runs windows 7.

All help is appreciated

The first thing to check is whether the wi-fi adapter is switched off or otherwise disabled. If there's a physical switch on the front or side of the latop or a Function key with a wireless icon on it.

Next time you use the Registry, I'm sure you'll create a backup before making any changes but just in case there is a fairly recent automatic backup, go back into regedit and from the File menu, choose Import and see if any show up in the file details form.

If all else fails, go into Control Panel>Device Manager and right click the wireless adapter in the Network Adpaters list and select Uninstall. Restart the computer and if the system doesn't detect the adapter and install it, go back to Device Manager and click on the Action...
