I am going to finish my new PC this december, and all i need to buy is a DDR4 RAM stick. I was going to buy a 2x Crucial Ballistix Elite 8GB 2666Mhz DDR4 (i have a Asus Z170M-PLUS/BR, so the frequency is not a problem there), but i went in Ark Intel and found out that the i7 6700K (my CPU) only supports 2133MHz DDR4. Is there a way so that my CPU can accept the 2666MHz frequency without downgrading it to 2133MHz? And if there is, can you tell me how? Thanks :)

(Sorry if i misspelled something, english isn't my main language)

No worries there. Look to Newegg for more information

See that OC? 2133 is Intel's suggested RAM speed. With XMP in place many motherboard will automatically overclock the RAM module to the speed that the module was designed to run at. The user may need to set an XMP profile once. There are boards that don't do that. The user would need to set the memory values manually with the BIOS.

Look to your board's page for even more information concerning XMP. It says

You're be fine with that 2666MHz RAM.
