Hi, so I used to be able to use my xbox one controller on my PC(wireless controller connected to PC via USB). I recently installed Corsair Link to my machine so that I could run my Corsair H100i GTX cooling system and since then I have not been able to use my xbox controller.
When I plug the controller in windows10 comes up with a message saying something along the lines of "Power surge on USB port" for every usb port on my machine.
I tested to see if it was the controller/wire by testing mine and my friends xbox controllers against different wires.
We tested three wires, one of which was a Galaxy S6, and the controllers only worked on the S6 cable.

PC SPECS:
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K @ 3.50GHz
GPU 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 (EVGA)
MB: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z97X-UD5H-BK (SOCKET 0)
RAM: 16.0GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i gtx
PSU: Corsair RM750i

SSD: 238GB Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB
HDD: 931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EALS-002BA0 (SATA)

Could there be an issue with the power supply not being able to output enough?
How can I get my controller to work again?

Thanks!

Solution
You most likely have a short from a bent/broken port/plug. Considering the ports work with other devices, and the ports work with certain cables, i'm definitely wanting to blame the cable's plug.

Something is bent/broken and making contact where it shouldn't. Don't plug in any USB drives until you have this sorted as it could kill them.
