I am building a new computer for christmas. I have every part except for the video card thus far but i am split on the card that i want to get. I would like to use the crossfire ability of the rx 480 in the future and grab a second card since the 1060 doesnt support SLI configurations. The only thing I am afraid about is the performance of one card. I plan to play Battlefield 1 at 1080p ultra detail with this computer. So what do you guys think? I have a 200-250 dollar budget range, I have a 650 watt Gold power supply from EVGA, a MSI Z170 SLI board that supports crossfire, an intel 6600K processor and 16 gigs of DDR4 RAM.

Both cards should be able to play BF1 at 1080p at max/very high settings. Here's a sample of OC comparisons of both cards http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2016/11/18/asus-radeon-rx-480-strix-oc-8gb-review/4

Agree with you about the 480. The 480 supports freesync monitors, has more vram, more shader units, and great native dx12 support to future proof your investment. Some new games already support mGPU using dual GPUs. The 480 supports dual GPU thru Crossfire as an upgrade path when you need it.
