hi everyone, so basically i tried to oc my sapphire hd 7870 with these settings (from the AMD Catalyst Control Center, Graphics OverDrive):

GPU Core: default 1000 mHz - to 1150 mhz
GPU Memory: default 1200mHz - to 1400-1450 mhz
Power Limit: +20%

i tried to see if it was stable so i tried a few games with these settings, all seemed to run just fine for 30-45 mins but all of a sudden my pc shut off, i tried to turn it on again but it only did for a fraction of a second just to shut down immediately after, i noticed that it only does that if i insert a 6pin connector to the far left 6 pin slot of the graphics card, i switched the card with another old one and the pc starts just fine so i think it's a problem about the card itself.

By far i tried to CMOS Reset by jumper and by taking out the battery and reseat it after 5 mins, uninstall all amd drivers, msi afterburn and everything else that had anything to do with overclocking, no success.

If you're wondering what PSU i have it's a Corsair cx600
mobo it's an ASUS M5A78L-M USB3
thinking about it now, it was really a stupid idea to overclock with this mobo lol

please help me out :( thanks

Hey, funny enough last night I was watching a YouTube video on bad overclocks, and this actually seems what your issue could be, JayzTwoCents basically constructs this issue and shows a way to fix it. Hopefully this video gets you to where you need to be. Let me know how it went. GL. IF you don't feel comfortable clicking the link just lookup JayzTwoCents on youtube and it's the second most recent video he has put up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qn6sf-U2rQ&t=527s
