I recently ordered an AMD A10 7860k for $95 but I saw an Intel Core i3 6100 on there for $103. I went with the 7860k because a core i3 seems puny in todays world but which one is better? AMD A10 7860k or Intel Core i3 6100

Solution
If you're never going to add a discrete GPU and don't care that you don't have any upgrade options, the 7860k is a better deal on its own. However, with the i3 you get a slightly faster CPU, a decent iGPU (not as fast as the AMD), and the option to upgrade to an i5 or i7 in the future if you need to. In addition, the i3 will be a much better CPU if you choose to add a discrete GPU in the future. The FM2 platform is essentially dead, but it's fine if you are in the situation that I described in the first sentence. Otherwise I'd get the i3.

Thanks so much man! I already have an R7 260x in my system but the onboard graphics are always a good thing to have incase my card starts to die. I like that I have the option to overclock also.
