URGENT Hyper 212 evo doesnt fit!

I have the just got the hyper 212 evo and im just literally done with life - the bracket that goes on the bottom doesnt fit as it doesnt cover any screws. THIS MOTHERBOARD IS A SOCKET 775 WHY DO THEY ADVERTISE IT AS IT WORKS WITH 775 WHEN IT QUITE CLEARLY DOESNT.
Any help is appreciated, and asap as its my birthday and i just want to use my new cpu

Are you using the correct one? It should come with two afaik, check this video on how to install this cooler. It's not for socket 775 but should apply for it aswell.

Birthday and done with life.. very confusing.
The Evo comes with bracket kits for both AMD and Intel.
The lil booklet that comes with it explains slot 775.

Why did you buy an LGA 775 CPU and cooler for your birthday? Unless it's an upgrade to existing hardware why not get an i3 6100 or Haswell i5? Surely they'd be cheaper and perform better.

Well I found out why it did't fit - Because of my stupid af OEM dell motherboard, I've ordered one that DEFINITELY works (hopefully lmao) as it actually has the screw holes that my old MB is missing.
Thanks for the answers though, much appreciated!
(P.S - My birthday wasn't ruined as I received one of my christmas presents early so I wasn't feeling sh*t on my birthday

)

Ah right lol.
Very strange, should have supported the socket just fine, but those OEM motherboards CAN be very tricky.
