Looking for GPU upgrade

Currently I am looking to upgrade my GPU as I have the gigabyte gtx 960 windforce addition. I just got an email from my local computer hardware shop called msy and they are selling asus strix r9 fury for $345 AUD. I am wondering if this upgrade is worth it or if I should stick with a nvidia card.

And the GTX1060 3gb/6gb looks pretty good/tempting upgrade for my GTX760 @200-250 USD for me... and will be less power from my Power Supply to use it.

That's an absolutely FANTASTIC deal on an R9 Fury, especially a Strix one!
Get it!

A 1060 6GB which performs a bit worse goes for the same price.

@Chugalug I was thinking that too, but I am worried just about the power draw since I am using Cooler Master GX2 pro 550watt

Ah I see.
In that case I would get the 1060 6GB, it'll perform about the same, but'll save you cash in that you don't need to replace the PSU due to low power draw.

Today I made my decision and ended up going with Gtx 980.
I didn't upgrade my PSU and was wondering for that was a bad decision, I am currently running an i7 4790k, Corsair H110i CPU cooler, 6 Fans (lol), 16GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 Ram, and obviously gtx 980 4gb, also running 4 HDD and 2 SSD if that makes any difference. I am running the Coolermaster GX2 PRO 550watt 80+ bronze psu. Will this setup be pushing my wattage limit, or would it be fine?

How much did you get the 980 for? Unless it was $300 i'd say return it, a 1060 will have the same performance with better optimization.
It'll be fine with that unit.
