Hi, recently I've upgraded everything in my PC except storage drives. However, my PC will freeze completely (display and audio freeze, numlock, mouse/cursor, ctrl+alt+del do not work, requiring hard reset) after playing about 30 min of GTA V. It didn't happen in my old PC.

It does not happen in other games. My CPU temp is below 45C and GPU temp is below 65C when playing. I've tried to update graphics and audio drivers including installing the version before the latest one, reseat RAM sticks, reseat GPU, pass memtest86, pass prime95, pass furmark 15 min burn-in without problems. Please help, thanks.

CPU: i5-6402p (OC'd to 3.8Ghz, problem persists without OC)
MB: ASRock H170 Pro4/Hyper
RAM: Avexir Core Series 2x4GB 2400Mhz
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti OC
PSU: Cooler Master VS 550W
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212X
OS: Windows 10 Home

Edit: I have page file enabled in my new PC as the game crashes because of low memory if I don't. GTA V uses more memory than it did as I have higher graphics settings now and it crashes together with the Windows warning when the memory usage is more than 60%.

I'm using a SSD.

Yes I've reformatted my boot drive. My game is in another drive.

It only happens to GTA V, I've tried other more intensive games and they all have no problem, however it seems that GTA V uses more memory which is up to 3GB. Not sure if related to memory though.

Tried with lowest graphics settings and it still happens.

Does it happen everytime you play ? I believe you said it doesnt happen in all games perhaps its a flaw with gta5. When it freezes do you hear high pitch sound coming from your speakers ?

Yes, every time, sometimes 10 minutes after I play and sometimes even an hour. It's only GTA V I've confirmed that. The sound is looping depends on what I'm doing in the game. If what I'm doing produce no sound then the loop is not obvious, however if I'm driving a car it would be very loud.

Ok I finally get a BSOD screen after pushing the power button once when the freeze occurs. It says CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT and I've googled it and it seems that it's a CPU issue. I'll try to flash my BIOS again and see what happens.

My CPU is not overheating and I've passed Prime95 several times with 3 different tests and I'm sure it's not the problem with the CPU itself or the heatsink.

I would check the power supply.
