Should I Upgrade my i5-4770k and gtx770?
Hey guys I did some looking around and read an old post about a guy debating on upgrading or SLI his 770.
They said he could run a single 970 and that the 970 would only outperform when stuff(games/applications) needed the 4gb. I was thinking of going into the 10xx series but is it worth the price? And I can't find much info on my 4770k. I never overclocked it cause I didn't know how... Maybe that is an option?
Thanks in advance brothas.

Still a pretty powerful chip so you will see none or very little bottleneck in terms of performance, but I would look at OCing if you can to get that extra power out of it so you know for sure you won't be getting a bottleneck.
Other than that you should be fine. Pick between the gtx 1060 6gb or the gtx 1070 and you'll be sorted.

First of all, there is no such thing as an i5 4770k, there is an i7 4770k and I would upgrade or a GTX 1070 as you can fin them for around $300usd which is a pretty good price. Most i5 cpus are alright and shouldnt bottleneck a 1070 but you can upgrade your cpu in the future.

there is no i5-4770k only a i7-4770k. So if you have what i think you have then yes your current cpu will be more than powerful for applications at the moment. Even more so if you decide to overclock it at some point.

For GPU depends on your budget. But performance wise would be a excellent jump to make to the 10XX series. You will see a massive improvement in performance in comparison to your 770.

I my self would look at something along the lines of the 1060 6gb as great all round card for your system and will be a huge improvement over the 770. Or if you can afford it the 1070 (which I have) would be a massive improvement and shouldn't get bottlenecked by your CPU really especially if you do think about OCing which I mentioned before.

I my self wouldn't bother SLI with the 770 quite a few recent games aren't optimised to scale with two cards particularly well and do a lot better with 1 more powerful card in comparison
