I'm trying to fix an older PC for a friend and is driving me crazy because I can't get the second monitor to work. He's having this setup:
- Two Monitors BenQG2222HDL with two ports each, a DVI-D and a VGA (http://www.benq.us/product/monitor/G2222HDL/features/)
- EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (with 3 ports: DVI-I, DVI-I, Mini-HDMI, http://www.evga.com/articles/00609/)

The main monitor is connected to the video card with a DVI-D Dual Link to DVI-D Dual Link cable.
The second monitor is connected to the video card with a VGA cable with a VGA to DVI-I Dual Link converter (in this port http://www.screencast.com/t/3brBxihJ)

Now this setup has WORKED for 3 years but stopped working a few weeks ago. The second monitor just goes into standby right after booting and stay like that. If I switch the cables around the second monitor starts working while the first goes into standby. The middle DVI-I video card port seems to be the problem. That being said in the NVIDIA control panel and device manager I can see both monitors just fine:

Anyone has any idea as of what could cause this?

I haven't tried using the mini-HDMI port just yet.
