Hello everyone, this is my first message here :wahoo:

I have a problem with my computer. This morning when I booted it up I was greeted by a completely black screen, my gtx1080 not sending any signal to the monitor. I tried switching to my integrated gpu and still black screen. I tried removing the 1080 and turning it on again and it worked.

The card is about two months old and it had not given me any sign of failure before, so I decided to test my PSU with a tester. I connected the 24 pin power connector and the 8 pin connector to the tester and surprisingly it seems like the PSU is faulty if I am reading this thing correctly; I have an LL and a beeping sound instead of one of the normal Voltage values (-12V I think). I tried also plugging the gpu connectors and they seem to be working fine, so I think that the GPU is properly powered. Now, I ordered a replacement supply off amazon to see if that will solve the problem, but is the behavior that I just described normal if the PSU is actually faulty? Could it just be the graphics card that is faulty?

Was going to suggest to try running it on another PSU, but you've got that covered.

Do you have a spare computer that you can plug your 1080 into for you to test it in? You can boot off of the IGPU still, just to see if it is detected, if it is, then it's most likely fine - Use IGPU as undervolting can damage it if there isn't enough power.

It more or less seems like the PSU, so I would wait and see if that fixes the issue.
