Solution
You don't need to do all that if you just wanna play simple Games like Diablo with a few friends
Just install a third party program like Hamachi or Evolve to set up a LAN connection between you and your friends.

With that made, you all should be able to connect to each other easily!
Those Online games have built-in options for Multiplayer, you'll be the one hosting the "server" as soon as you choose to do so in-game.

All you need to do is:
1) Install the program
2) Create a Network and ask your friends to join it
3) After they've joined, run Diablo, set up the Multiplayer world
4) Send them your IP adress shown in the program
5) They'll use it to connect through TCP/IP inside the Diablo
6) Done :)

It's easier than you...

It's easier than you think, i've done that quite a few times already never had a problem :)

Hope it works for you too!

Providing you have a home router it is possible to set up a dedicated game server to host games.

The server it`s self does not require you in most cases to have a good graphics card fitted , but at minimum I would use an older cpu that is dual, or quad core if you can.

As for memory 4Gb bare minimum, 8 preferred for any 2015 to 2016 titled games.

You will have to learn how to configure the dedicated server, it only really involves creating, or setting up a config file in most cases.

And making sure the network is set up right.
It`s not that hard to be honest.

It`s more a type of setup if you have space for friends to come round and play with there systems in tow for a home Lan party or get together.

Of course it depends on how many machines, or friends bring there systems.
And may mean having to buy a switch or a hub for example to provide 16 connections ect if your planning a decent lan party 8v8 ect.

You can also set the server up for Wan if you wish, but anyone connecting will suffer higher pings.
depending on what fiber cable or package you have in speed in relation to up and down stream Mbps.

thank you this was much simpler than having to have a separate pc just to have us connected :)
