I am upgrading to a msi gtx 1070 and i was worrying about the power supply. At the moment I have a msi gtx 980 that uses 2 x 8 pin and and 1070 uses one 6 pin and 1 x 8 pin but im not sure where to plug the two pins in for the 1070. My powersupply is the cs750m, would be great if someone would help me :)

Solution
If that's the case maybe the new card will run using the same cable and just leave one of the 2-pin's out. Try and see. If not you'll need another one.

Don't really understand, never been the best with cables for pc's. Could you show me with a picture or something? thanks

This is a 6+2-pin cable.

You will need 2 of them for your card.

For the 6-pin slot just plug in the main cable without the extra 2
For the 8-pin slot plug in the main part plus the extra 2.

it should but you would need two of them. It looks like a 4+4 and a 6+2 in a single cable is that correct?

Right now my gtx 980 from msi is using one, it needs two 8 pins and it is using that splitter at the moment.
