Hello, so I have 2 computers, my laptop can connect to the internet and my gaming pc cannot. Because of this, I cannot download games to my gaming pc, so I would like to download games onto my laptop and transfer them to my gaming pc. I cannot use flashdrives either. Is a hotswap drive a solution to this? If so, would I need two hotswap drives, one for each computer? I'm a little confused on what they are used for.

Solution
Ya, that response has me a little confused also. I would assume the government agency wouldn't want someone to connect an external drive to transfer files back and forth.
Honestly, I would just get a 1TB WD usb 3.0 hard drive. I hope you don't mean you are trying to copy the game after it installs. Get an offline installation, and use an external hard drive. That way, you can transfer large files.

There is also another options. A cross over cable. It's an Ethernet cable, but the twisted pairs are the same, so it allow you to connect both computers and start a connection. You can try that as well.

Why is it that your gaming pc cannot connect to the internet? Does it not have an ethernet port? Or is it physically in a room that doesn't have an internet connection? I transfer files all the time between my 3 pcs. Two are connected to the router with Cat5e cable, and one a couple of rooms away from the router is connected to a Wireless range extender. You can also buy a wireless PCIe card for the computer, or even a usb wireless device. You could also use a usb external HDD like the WD MyPassport.

No, its a government network so we aren't allowed to connect personal computers.

Yes I did mean copy the game after it installs. Is that not valid? And what do you mean by an offline installation?
