cpu never goes at 100% load when gaming

ok so i have i7 4790 non k cpu with an r7 240 2gb gpu( dont ask why , it was prebuilt and i was young and stupid. ) . When I game , the cpu never goes at 100% load while gaming. So i was wondering is there a way to make it go at 100% until i get a new gpu?

the i7 is quite strong. It shouldn't max out in a pretty large portion of games.

yeah but its runing at 10-20 % in most game even the demanding ones. it should go at least 60-70% load. but i know its the gpu fault that the cpu cant communicate properly

When gaming your gpu is the limiting factor. Your CPU is not maxing out because there is no need.

I saw a video on youtube from someone who got like 100 fps in cs go on high setttings in 1080p with and i3 6100 and a r7 240. he had same gpu and got better performance than I do. i cant even play cs go at this settings.

In that case, you probably need to disable V-sync (or triple buffering, etc) which is limiting your frame rate. Any junk gpu should be able to get a high frame rate in that game.

Your CPU is massively more powerful and cs go is not very gpu demanding. Also Cs go doesn't use multiple threads so it can't use most of your cpu

i dont know. i get really bad fps. i only get like 60-70 on low. on medium goes from 40 to 55. and at high lower than 30

yeah with i7 your CPU probably won't get to 100% across unless you were running game that coded to use CPU based ray tracing.

His frame rate is piss poor for what he should be getting. I remember getting a solid 60 on high (or medium) with my now obsolete GTX 650 years ago.

I usually don't take benchmarks so literally, so to speak, but... I think you're overestimating the R7 or I'm overestimating CSGO

the r7 240 is just shit card. its not even gddr5. Its gddr3.
