I recently got semi-drunk and decided to upgrade my i5-4690k to an i7-6700k which I found for cheap (not often here in Canada) but I totally forgot about compatibility. They both use the FCLGA 1151 compatible but I can't find any definitive info on the 6700k working with it, only other devil's canyon stuff.
will a i7-6700k work with my MSI H97M-G43 ?

Nope that is a 1150 motherboard. You need a 1151 to run the skylake i7-6700K. Here is a list of all the CPU's the motherboard supports.
