Hello, i'm currently very new to working with PCs and i was wondering if i could fit a GTX 950 (More specifically a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 950 2GB OC Edition) into a HP Compaq 8200 Elite SFF pre-built PC, here are the specs

CPU: Intel i5 2400
RAM: 8 GB
MoBo: Intel Q67 Chipset
PSU: (I have no idea, if anyone could tell me the wattage of this PC it would be way easier to know if i need to upgrade my PSU)

The reason behind upgrading is for medium gaming (CS:GO, GMod, Etc...) and i'm not sure if this PC can support a GTX 950 because it is a SFF (Small Form Factor) PC or because i may not have a PSU that can support the extra power a GPU needs.

All answers will be very useful, keep in mind that i am a Canadian resident so a 950 costs way more up here, if you have any suggestions for a new PSU (If needed) or find a better GPU for under 200$ CAD it would be greatly appreciated! (Keep in mind its a SFF pc so all recommendations must fit in its case)

(Looking for a answer by December 10th because Christmas)

If my PSU is 240W do you think it would be able to hyandle a GTX 750 TI

Technically, no. The GTX 750 Ti requires a 300W PSU minimum as per Nvidia. However, the real determining factor is the PSU's +12V rail(s). I have this L-P GTX 750 Ti http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5160#ov
...in my Dell Optiplex 790 SFF running on a 240W Dell PSU with a +12V rail rated for 17A. So far, it is holding OK at heavy load gaming. But I do this at my own risk, knowing the PSU could fail.

Can you see the nameplate on your PSU? If so, check the +12V specs or post a pic of the nameplate here.

Hi there fellow Canadian.

I have a hp elite 8300 SFF and I fitted a Asus gtx 950 mini low power inside it. I used a pci-e riser and place the card in the case. so kinda sitting on top of the motherboard, i am going to put some kinda gpu blocker to prevent heat transfer.

it is not the most beautiful job but it works. you can close the case, i havent done any test to it i think i will test out GTAV on this.

i was able to benchmark it with the case close. I am hitting 80c during a gpu stress test (sorry forgot the name of the test) dont know if the cooling will help if i have the case open.

and the GPU is lower power edition so doesn't require additional power like others.

not sure if the MSI one will fit. ASUS one is the mini edition.

I also have another ASUS GTX 950 MINI for my 2nd hp elite build which requires additional power.
it is giving me a lot of headaches as our power supply is only 240w and with this card I am pushing close 160w when the system is at the peak which I feel a little bit unsafe.

I would probably add a 2nd psu using add2psu adapter and use a pico atx psu so i can run oem hp psu. aftermarket psu would cause bios error so you have to hit F1 everytime you start...

another reason I go with gtx950 is they are Hackintosh compatible. these hp elite are the awesome Hackintosh machine.

hope it helps if you need photo let me know.
