Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, and I might be, but wasn't the standard market price for the average GTX 1080 supposed to be $599.99 when it came out? It seems now though that the standard is closer to that of $700.00 than having a baseline of 6-something. Again, I thought this was the case but I'm open to being incorrect.

Thanks!

You can find a few cards at or just over $600 with the premium cooler cards getting closer to $700. When the reference cooled card is $700 and currently no competition from AMD at the price point I am not surprised prices are staying high.

I mean for some yes. But for example

still staying around original price. Unless the rumored 1080 ti comes out soon I imagine the price will stay there for a while.

I mean, I don't mind that they are that high. For the fact that they are just about as powerful as a GTX Titan Z is supposed to be, they are listed at a MUCH MUCH better price than that card.
