I bought a new 120gb ssd and wanted to install Windows onto it. I just did a clean factory reset to my computer with the HP_recovery partition that came with the computer. I've tried migrating the os to the ssd with multiple programs like (paragon and easus) and when I went to boot from the ssd the ssd said that it failed to find a Bootable disc to boot from. All help is appreciated. Thanks

How did you attempt this migration?
Obviously, something failed.

Redo it, with these steps:
-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL...
Did you copy the partition over or something? I always try to avoid SSD migration and just do a fresh install. Since the OS key is tied to the motherboard, you should just be able to Install windows. Unless you need it, this is handy to avoid bloatware.

-----------------------------
Verify the actual used space on the current drive is significantly below the size of the new SSD
Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD)
Power off
Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD
Power up
Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration)
Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive
Click the 'Clone' button
Wait until it is done
When it finishes, power off
Disconnect ALL drives except for the new SSD
Swap the SATA cables around so that the new drive is connected to the same SATA port as the old drive
Power up, and verify the BIOS boot order
If good, continue the power up

It should boot from the new drive, just like the old drive.
Maybe reboot a time or two, just to make sure.

If it works, and it should, all is good.

Later, reconnect the old drive and wipe as necessary.
Delete the original boot partitions, here:

The drive hdd includes the HP_recovery drive. The os which I shrunk to 100gb and the system which is 100mb. I cloned the system and os and it said there was an error and could not boot. I tried to see if could clone just the recovery partition and it told me that was unable due to insufficient space. There was nothing on the drive yet...

Including the Recovery partition, it was too large for a 120GB SSD.

1. Reduce your C partition to below 90GB
2. Redo it, and this time, include all partitions except the HP_Recovery partition.

ok. For some reason the clone must have been missing something i am not sure what exactly. I manged to clone the hard drive with easeus but, it didnt do anything different that macrium reflect did not. For some reason this method worked. Either way thanks for your help im sure this will help others with the same issue!
